Building Hope Program

The Building Hope program (BH) is based on the successful Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS). BH extends most of the fundamental aspects of the FSS model but is now mandatory for all eligible tenants/participants. The program aims to guide households in achieving full self-sufficiency, including homeownership.

What is the Building Hope Program (BH)?

The Building Hope Program is dedicated to providing comprehensive support to individuals and families with the goal of achieving self-sufficiency. The program is focused on offering a wide range of supportive services designed to assist participants in reaching their goals.

Key components of the Building Hope Program include:

  • Case Management: Personalized Support to help participants develop and follow a plan for achieving their goals.
  • Employment Assistance: Job training, resume building, and placement services to help participants secure and maintain employment.
  • Life Skills Training: Workshops and classes on credit counseling, financial training programs, and other essential skills.
Who is Eligible for the Building Hope Program?

The Building Hope Program is a mandatory program for non-elderly, non-disabled Housing Choice Voucher participants and Public Housing tenants. Continued housing assistance is contingent upon participation in the BH program.
